Urgent merchandising products – This customer had a range of custom products. Such as scan strips, hooks and shelf management etc. All supplied by another supplier who could not deliver in time. As the new store was opening soon. This meant they were potentially going to open the store with no way of displaying some products and being unable to display pricing. We were contacted to see if we could provide a solution to their issue as they were aware we supplied similar products.

• We went out to the site to meet the customer to establish exactly what they needed.
• The site presented unique shelf sizes and display areas, we discussed this with the operator and how best to work around this.
• After measuring up in the store we went away and worked out what they needed display and ticketing wise and supplied a quote for these items.

The customer came back to us and confirmed the quote as we were very competitive. They needed the stock urgently and we supplied it all in time for their opening. This allowed them to open the store with all the equipment they needed and be able to merchandise the store effectively. The customer was very pleased with our service and has since placed further orders.

Situation for Poster hanging system

This customer had been having issues with their poster hanging systems breaking. The poster displays were sourced from another supplier besides us. The last system they were using was not great. The previous system had been discontinued by that supplier. They found the new system wasn’t ideal but it was currently the next best product to use in their stores. After being approached by them and discussing we believed we had a much better solution to their problem.

How did we help the customer with this?

  • We met with our customer and identified what the issue was to ensure what we could offer was suitable.
  • The next step was to take out a sample set and test it at their premises.
  • By carrying out the testing we discovered our system would hold the different thickness of material they used. And without needing to make any modifications to the material.
  • A favourable byproduct of the testing was that they believed the system would be easier to use for their staff in-store.

What was the outcome for the customer?

The outcome was that the poster hanging system that we suggested ended up being the perfect solution for what they wanted to achieve. It was also very easy to use for their staff members. Our customer was also pleased with the support they received and that we came up with a solution. Our customer has since placed an order for stock which they will hold and distribute as necessary, but also our system will be rolled out to all stores over time.

New shopping baskets – We recently had one of our customers respond to a mail out we had sent and one of the items featured were our Shopping Baskets. They were currently using older wire shopping baskets and wanted to try our NZ Made plastic ones in their store as it was a cost effective way to upgrade their baskets and to also have more available for use.

  • Firstly we offered our plastic shopping baskets as they are light but very sturdy and will hold up to 100kg.
  • Also we offered our basket stands so they could distribute the baskets around the store and have them in multiple locations.
  • Our baskets are easy to clean and won’t rust so it makes the customers experience more enjoyable.
  • The timing was right as we were also running a promotion on our baskets and stands.

What was the outcome for this retail client…

The store owner noticed his customers were using the baskets more often as they were lighter than his old wire baskets. This also led to him placing the baskets in multiple locations around the store so his customers could grab one when they needed it. He also placed another order for baskets and stands as they were so well accepted.

Situation: Off location displays of bread products

We had a customer of ours come to us looking for a way to display bread products in various locations around their store. They wanted to be able to up-sell bread products when their customers were purchasing items such as soup, cheeses and spreads etc. The other issue our customer had was that some of the locations they wanted to use were odd shapes and standard display fixtures weren’t suitable.

How did we help them with this

  • We visited the store and met with the people concerned and suggested a range of options they could use. This included pole display stands, round baskets and stands and wood products.
  • The types of stands we recommended were specific to the area they were planning to use to display their bread products. For example – there was a location where the stand would be backed up to an upright fridge so the product could only be displayed on two sides of the stand.
  • Quotes and images of the stand were prepared and sent off to the customer. This included images of the stands being used with various types of holders.

What was the outcome

Our customer selected two different stands to use in their store and these fitted the locations perfectly. The use of the stands led to increased sales on their bread products as well as improved visibility for their shoppers. The management team in the store were happy with the outcome.
